Two cosmetic factories sealed off

A mobile court yesterday sealed off two cosmetic factories on charge of producing adulterated items in Chawkbazar area of the capital. Executive Magistrate, Md Sarwar Alam led the drive at around 11am at 25 Hekim Habibur Rahman Lane and Chhoto Katra in the capital.  The court sentenced Md Towfiq Ali, owner of the fake cosmetics factory, to three months imprisonment and Minu Perfumery Works and Abdul Hakim owner of Niti Food fined Taka one lakh each.   The court also confiscated huge amount of poisonous chemical from their factories.Senior Assistant Director of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), ATM Abdullahel Hadi conducted the drive.Two of the RAB-10 members hands burned down when they were removing 12 container hena making chemical from there, said RAB official.  They were using fake label written in English and Hindi languages, he added.
