Man, daughter found dead in septic tank

Khulna:  A man and his daughter were found dead inside a septic tank at Labanchora in the city on Friday night, reports UNB. The deceased were identified as Elias, 75, and his daughter Parveen Akter, 25, a resident of the area. Quoting locals, police said Parveen, daughter of Elias, had come here to his father’s house recently. A gang of robbers swooped on the house sometime at night and looted valuables. When Elias and Parveen tried to resist the robbers, the robbers strangled the father and his daughter to death and dumped the bodies in the septic tank of their house. Mollah Jahangir Alam, deputy commissioner of Khulna Metropolitan Police (South), said being informed by local people, police recovered the bodies from the septic tank of the house around 11:40 pm. Police suspected that the robbers might have killed Parveen at first and then killed her father. The bodies were sent to Khulna Medical College Hospital morgue.
