�Death of Sufian irreparable loss�

SYLHET: A civic condolence meeting on Sylhet district Awami League President Abdus Jahir Chowdhury Sufian was held at Kabi Nazrul Islam auditorium at Bikaribazar here yesterday, reports BSS. Addressing the meeting as the chief guest, State Minister for Finance and Planning MA Mannan said Sufian was an honest person and his principles and ideals would inspire all in future. “He (Sufian) was the guardian of the politics of Awami League in Sylhet,” he said adding that death of benevolent man like him is an irreparable loss. Presided over by former Mayor and Sylhet City AL President Badruddin Ahmed Kamran, the meeting was conducted by District AL General Secretary Shafiqur Rahman Chowdhury. Jatiya Sangsad Whip M. Shahab Uddin, AL central organising secretary Advocate Misbah Uddin Siraj addressed the meeting as special guest. Imran Ahmed, MP, Mahmud Us Samad Chowdhury Quayes, Amanul Kibria Keya Chowdhury, AL National Council Member Shah Azizur Rahman, Advocate Lutfar Rahman, Shahjalal Science and Technology University Vice-Chancellor Dr Aminul Haq Bhuiyan, Sylhet Agriculture University Vice-Chancellor Dr Golam Shahi Alam, Sylhet District Bar Association President Advocate Samiul Alam and Sylhet Press Club President Iqbal Siddique were present, among others.
