3 ‘smugglers’ arrested in Benapole

Benapole:  Members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) in a drive arrested three suspected smugglers along with Indian contraband goods at Navaran Bazar in Sharsha upazila on Friday night, reports UNB.

The arrestees are Anarul Islam Munshi, 19, son of Azizul Munshi, Rafiqul Islam Mollah, 21, son of late Akmal Hossain Mollah and Rajab Ali Sarder, 21, son of Sohrab Sarder. Assistant superintendent of police Sohel Parvej, acting company commander of Rab-6, said on information, a team of Rab conducted a drive in front of Saleha Market at night.

The elite force members caught the smugglers when they tried to flee seeing them. The team recovered Indian zarda, cosmetics, 35kgs potka and 17 kgs fire crackers from their possession.  The arrestees were handed over to Sharsha Police Station.
