South Korea's exports hit a new record high in the January-August period as solid demand for locally-made chips and oil products raised a monthly export above 50 billion U.S. dollars for the fourth straight month, a government report showed yesterday, reports Xinhua from Seoul.
Exports, which account for about half of the export-driven economy, reached 399.8 billion dollars for the first eight months of this year, up 6.6 percent from the same period of last year, according to data from the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy.
