Three secretaries have been served legal notices seeking cancellation of Friday’s MBBS and BDS admission tests within 24 hours. Supreme Court lawyer Advocate Eunus Ali Akond served the legal notices on secretaries to the Cabinet Division, law, and health affairs asking them to take initiatives for canceling the entry tests within 24 hours over what he claims leak of question papers. Otherwise, a writ petition will be filed with the High Court seeking cancellation of the tests, the legal notice said. Akond said similar question papers were found on the internet two days ahead of the tests held on Friday. The legal notice also demanded new tests for MBBS and BDS admission seekers. On Friday, three people, including an assistant director of University Grants Commission (UGC), were detained in connection with ‘leaks’ of questions of medical admission exams. Earlier on Wednesday, Rapid Action Battalion arrested four other people, including a doctor, in Dhaka for their alleged involvement in leaking question papers of medical entrance exams. The law enforcers also recovered mock question papers and answer sheets and cheques worth Tk1.20 crore from their possession.
