Remembering Salman Shah on 44th birth anniv today

To celebrate the 44th birth anniversary of the late iconic hero of the country’s film industry Salman Shah in a befitting manner today, Salman Shah Smriti Parishad has organised a daylong event at the Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (BFDC) premises in the city. The daylong celebration features discussion, cutting cake, award giving ceremony, cultural programme and gathering of film artistes. Renowned media personalities including actors-actresses, singers, directors and producers will participate in the cultural segment of the event.
Salman Shah Smriti Parishad president SM Shafi said earlier about the birth anniversary celebration of Salman Shah, “A committee has been formed comprising of renowned media personalities and journalists to make the celebration successful and different activities have already been started”.
Salman Shah (Shahriar Chowdhury Emon: 19 September, 1971 – 6 September, 1996), was and continues to be a shining star in the sky of the country’s film industry. Making his first appearance on silver screen with the debut film titled ‘Keyamat Theke Keyamat’ directed by Sohanur Rahman Sohan, he entered into the Bangladesh film industry and changed the typical image of a Bangladeshi hero through his brilliant presence on the big screen.
Salman Shah took his life on September 6 in 1996. In his short film career he acted in as many as 27 films. He had starred in many successful films, including ‘Antorey Antorey’, ‘Bikkhov’, ‘Denmohor’, ‘Bichar Hobe’, ‘Ei ghor ei Shongshar’, ‘Jibon Shongshar’, ‘Chaowa Theke Paowa’, ‘Anondo Osru’. l
