Faridpur will be made division soon: Minister

Local Government, Rural Development (LGRD) and Cooperatives Minister Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain yesterday said Faridpur district will be made a division and a city corporation soon, reports BSS.

The minister came up with the remarks while talking to journalists at the conference room of the Local Government Division here.

Earlier, he exchanged Eid greetings with the officials and employees of his ministry.

State Minister for Rural Development and Cooperatives Mashiur Rahaman Ranga and Senior Secretary of the Local Government Division Dr Zafar Ahmed Khan were present.

Mosharraf said the works of making Faridpur district into a division is going on in full swing.

He said the government has taken a special initiative of Taka 1,500 crore to make the all sadar upazilas as like as municipality.
