86 passengers fined for traveling sans tickets

Rangpur: Bangladesh Railway (BR) yesterday fined 86 passengers of two trains Taka 32,700 for traveling without tickets from Lalmonirhat on different routes under Lalmonirhat railway division, officials said, reports BSS.

Led by Lalmonirhat Divisional Railway Traffic Superintendent of BR Shawkat Jamil Mohoshi, it’s Assistant Traffic Superintendent Sajjat Hossain and other BR officials conducted the special ticket checking drives.

During the drives, BR officials found that 86 passengers of the Dhaka bound Lalmoni Express and Dinajpur bound Demu Train from Lalmonirhat were travelling without tickets and fined them Taka 32,700 on the spots.

“We are conducting the day-long special ticket checking drives since yesterday morning in different trains on various routes under Lalmonirhat railway division yesterday,” Shawkat Jamil Mohoshi told BSS over cell phone at 2:30 pm.
