Seven newly elected councillors take oath

Seven newly-elected councillors of Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) and Gazipur City Corporation took oath yesterday at a ceremony at the LGRD and Cooperatives Ministry seminar room, reports BSS.
LGRD and Cooperatives Minister Khandker Mosharraf Hossain administrated the oath to all elected councilors, an official release said yesterday.
Newly-elected Mayor of Gazipur City Corporation Jahangir Alam told BSS that they will take the charge from September 4.
One councillor from Dhaka South City Corporation and six councilors from Gazipur City Corporation took their oath.
Dr Zafar Ahmed Khan Senior Secretary of Local Government Division and high officials of the ministry were present on the occasion.
Chairman of Parliamentary Standing Committee on Youth and Sports Ministry Zahid Ahsan Russell, MP, and newly elected Mayor of Gazipur City Corporation Jahangir Alam were also present on the occasion. A gazette regarding names of the representatives elected in the by- election of DSCC was published on August 6, 2018 and another gazette of the newly elected representatives of Gazipur City Corporation was published on July 30, 2018.
