Two arrested in C’nawabganj

CHAPAINAWABGANJ: Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-5 arrested two alleged drug peddlers with 106 bottles of contraband Indian phensidyl syrup from a lichi orchard at Kalabari village under Shibganj upazila in the district on Saturday night, reports BSS.

The arrested persons are Md. Rokon, 33, son of late Tipu of Dhobra Motibazar and Md. Rafiqul Islam, 22, son of Md. Jamal Uddin of Bagbari Mobarakpur village, both under Shibganj upazila.

RAB said, acting on a tip off, an operation team of the force raided the aforesaid lichi orchard around 9 pm and held them with the bottles of phensidyl.

Later, the arrested persons were handed over to the local police after filing a case.
