Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) yesterday detained three people, including an official of University Grants Commission(UGC), from Agargaon area for their suspected involvement in leaking question papers of different universities, reports UNB. One of the detainees was identified as Omar Siraj, an assistant director of UGC. Conducted, a senior official of RAB headquarters said the elite force members conducted a drive in Agargaon area at around 11:00 am and arrested three people. The operation is still going on, the RAB official said. Our Staff Reporter adds: The University Grants Commission (UGC) yesterday suspended its assistant director Omar Siraj temporarily for his alleged involvement in question paper leak of medical admission test. UGC, in a press release, said it has temporarily suspended Omar Siraj from the service of the Commission following his arrest by RAB on charge of question-paper leak. There is no involvement of UGC with the functions of admission test of medical colleges, it added.
