Gold seized at Dhaka airport

A Dubai- returned passenger was arrested along with 10 gold bars weighing 1.5 kilogram and 92 cartons of foreign cigarettes from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the capital on Wednesday,

"We arrested Dubai-returned Abdul Mannan and seized 10 gold bars weighing 1.5 kg and 92 cartons of foreign cigarettes of Benson and Hedges and Dunhill from canopy-2 area of the airport around 8.45pm," assistant police super of airport armed police battalion said. The estimated value of the seized gold bars and cigarettes is Taka 70 lakh, he said. Mannan came to Shahjalal airport from Dubai by a flight of EK-584, he also said.
