RAJSHAHI: After two months of his arrest, former mayor of Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) and BNP leader Mizanur Rahman Minu was freed from jail on Wednesday night following bail in all cases against him, reports UNB. The BNP leader was released while under treatment at the Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH). Police members guarding him were pulled off around 8:15pm from the hospital after his release order reached the jail authorities in the afternoon. Jail Super Shafiqul Islam of Rajshahii central jail said Minu got bail in all cases. On September 9, Minu was admitted to RMCH after he complained of chest pain. On July 13 this year, two separate courts sent Mizanur Rahman Minu to jail turning down his bail petitions in six cases filed for vandalism and arson attacks during the BNP-led 20-party alliance’s hartal and blockade programme.
