In remembrance of noted film director Tareque Masud and cinematographer Mishuk Munier, Dhaka University Film Society (DUFS) undertook elaborate programmes including candle light vigil and open air film exhibition on Monday, reports UNB.
Family members of the deceased, including Tareque Masud’s widow Catherine Masud and DUFS members took part in the vigil at the sculpture ‘Road Accident Memorial’ in front of the Shamsunnahar Hall of Dhaka University around 6:30pm.
Besides, two films directed by Tareque Masud-Matir Maina (2002), and Runway (2010) were exhibited in the open air at TSC of the university.
The two iconic artistes including their film production crew-- Wasim, Jamal and microbus driver Mostafizur Rahman were killed in a tragic road crash on the Dhaka-Aricha highway at Joka under Ghior Upazila in Manikganj on this day in 2011.
