Mentally challenged youth burnt to death in Ctg fire
A mentally challenged youth was burnt to death and 36 shanties were gutted when fire broke out yesterday at a slum of Khandakerpara of Chandgaon area in Chattogram. The deceased was identified as Robiul Hossain, 30, hailed from Rangpur district. The mentally youth was chained in the home as he could go anywhere while his mother left home in the morning for work, said Kamal Uddin Chowdhury, assistant director of Fire Service and Civil Defense of Chattogram Division.
Lawyer crushed under train in Cumilla
A lawyer was crushed under a train at Shashongachha in Cumilla town on Saturday evening. The deceased was identified as Asharey Khoda Titu, 50, son of Prof Sultan Ahammed hailing from Thakurpara Baganbari area in the town and a government law officer at Cumilla court. In-charge of Cumilla Rail Station police camp Md Misbah-ul-Alam Chowdhury said police recovered the body from the rail line around 8pm on information and sent it to Cumilla Medical College Hospital for autopsy.
