Jute bag now mandatory for packaging poultry, fish feeds

The government has made the use of jute bags mandatory for the packaging of poultry and fish feeds, reports BSS.

The Textiles and Jute Ministry recently issued a notification in this regard, an official release said yesterday.

As per Article 22 of the Mandatory Jute Packaging Act, 2010, the government made the use of jute bags

compulsory for preserving and transporting the two

feeds through an amendment to the Mandatory Jute Packaging Rule-2013, the release added.

With this, the use of jute bags has been made compulsory for 19 items.
