Marking the third death anniversary of noted theatre and small screen actor Dilip Chakrobarty, Moviana Film Society, in association with Desh Natok, is holding a commemorative discussion and Dilip Chakrobarty-acted film screening today at 6pm at the National Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy.
Dilip Chakrobarty’s friends and colleagues along with drama director Ishrat Nishat, playwright Masum Reza, actress Rosy Siddique, professor Sabrina Sultana Chowdhury, film director Noman Robin and Secretary of Federation of Film Societies of Bangladesh Belayet Hossain Mamun will speak about Dilip Chakrobarty in the programme.
On the other hand, Dilip Chakrobarty-acted films titled ‘Anishchit Jatra’, directed by Belal Ahmed, based on Mahmudul Haque’s novel ‘Matir Jahaj’ and ‘Common Gender-the Film’ directed by Noman Robin will be screened at 4pm and 7:30pm respectively at the same venue.
Born in1968 in Tangail, Dilip Chakrobarty joined popular troupe Desh Natok in 1989 and played the role of the protagonist in the play ‘Arakkhita’.
He later came into the limelight for his brilliant performance, playing the role of Ekalabya in Masum Reza’s play ‘Nityapuran’.
Besides playing in the films ‘Common Gender-the Film’ and ‘Anishchit Jatra’, he also acted in several TV plays. He was also a writer of TV dramas like ‘Ekakitya’, ‘Manush’, ‘Maik Master’ and ‘Sandeho’.
