Famed actor-director Afzal Hossain and popular actress Farah Ruma, who are certainly no strangers to one another due to their professional engagment, will appear together on screen after a lengthy period of 14 years in a tele-drama titled ‘Chor’, directed by Nyeem Imtiaz Neyamul and written by Badrul Anam Soud.
The plot of ‘Chor’ evolves around the character of Amaan and Nadia. On a stormy night, Nadia arrives in Amaan’s house for shelter. Through their conversations, Nadia gets to know everything about Amaan’s life. The objective with which she arrived in his house in the first place takes a different direction. A new story begins to develop and it goes forward from there.
Afzal Hossain spoke about his thoughts on acting nowadays, “As far as acting is concerned, I must say that I am not as eager as I used to be before. This is simply because my profession has changed. But I still have an intimacy and love with acting. I believe that to act, one should be mentally free. Sometimes, during special occasions, I act in tele-dramas even though I am not mentally free. Those who are familiar with my schedule and understand my work pressure, I only work for their tele-dramas. I always try to enjoy acting and also try to do well.”
Farah Ruma shared her thoughts about working with Afzal Hossain after more than a decade, “ As a guardian and a mentor, if there is anyone I respect, then that person is Afzal Hossain. I am very grateful to director Nyeem Imtiaz Neyamul for giving me the opportunity to work with Afzal Hossain through this brilliant project. I am extremely delighted to be working with Afzal Hossain after such a long time.”
To note, Afzal Hossain and Farah Rumi, as mentioned before, are quite familiar with each other for a very long time. After winning the Lux Anandadhara Photo Sundori in 1997, Farah Rumi appeared in her first television commercial, her first tele-drama and first music video, all of which were directed by Afzal Hossain. She even made her tele-film debut under the direction of Afzal Hossain in ‘Saako’, written by Anisul Haq in 2001.
‘Chor’ will be aired on GTV during Eid-ul-Azha.
