A Chittagong University student lost both of his legs as a shuttle train ran him over at Sholoshahar Railway Station in Chittagong yesterday morning.
Injured Rabiul Alam, 25, a student of sociology department under 2013-14 academic session, was rushed to Chattogram Medical
College Hospital in critical condition.
Shahabuddin Ahmed, stationmaster of Sholoshahar Railway Station, said the accident took place around 8:15am when Rabiul fell under the university-bound shuttle train while trying to board it.
The fellow students rescued him and took him to the Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH), said he.
Alauddin Taluqdar, assistant sub-inspector of CMCH police outpost, said “The victim has lost both of his legs in the accident. He is now undergoing treatment at the hospital."
