A court here yesterday deferred the hearing for charge framing in Samiul Alam Rajon murder case to September 22 .
Judge of Sylhet Metropolitan Sessions Judge’s Court Akbar Hussain Mridha passed the order.
Earlier on September 7, Rajon murder case had been transferred to the Sessions Judge’s Court from the Metropolitan Magistrate Court. Earlier, police pressed charges against 13 people, including prime accused Kamrul Islam, for their involvement in the killing. Later the court accepted the charge sheet on 24 August. After the charge sheet was accepted, police confiscated the wealth of two absconding accused Kamrul and Shamim following order of the court.
On 31 august court also order to published a advertisement of three absconding person in newspaper.
In the charge sheet, police showed three accused, including Kamrul, and 10 others arrested.
Kamrul fled to Saudi Arabia after the incident. He was later detained by Saudi police. Now process is on to bring him back to face the trail. Investigation officer Suranjit Talukder, also inspector of the Detective Branch of Sylhet Metropolitan Police, submitted the charge sheet to the court of Metropolitan Magistrate Shahedul Karim on 16 August.
Apart from Kamrul, other accused were Muhit Alam, Ali Haider, Nurul Amin, Dulal Ahmed, Nur Mia, Ayaz Ali, Badal, Firoz Ali, Shamim, Ruhul Amin, Pavel and Asmat Ali.
Two detainees Lipi Begum and Ismail Hossain were acquitted as their involvement in the incident was not found.
On July 8, thirteen-year-old Rajon was beaten to death allegedly by Kamrul and several others in Kumargaon bus stand area of Sylhet city.
