Enamul gives testimony

RMG businessman Enamul Haque who was arrested on charge of funding militant outfit Shaheed Hamza Brigade gave his deposition under section-164 before a Chittagong court yesterday.
Senior Judicial Magistrate Farahana Yeasmin recorded the statement of Enamul from 11:00am to 12:00pm after the members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) produced him before the court after completion of his two-day remand.
When contacted, Public Prosecutor Advocate Abul Hashem said that Enamul gave deposition under section-164 and after recording the statement, the court sent him to jail.
Court sources said that in the court, Enamul did not confess that he had funded the militant outfit.
He said that he had deposited the money as part of his business transaction.
On Monday, he was put on a two-day remand in a case filed in connection with a raid on a training camp of the militant outfit in Hathazari upazila on February 19 this year under AntiTerrorism Act.
On September 6, he had been placed on a remand for five days in the case of Banskhali police station; however, after quizzing, he gave confessional statement before the court under the section-164. On September 5, RAB-7 arrested Enamul, director of Golden Touch Apparels from Tongi area of Gazipur on charges of funding militant outfit Shaheed Hamza Brigade.
Later he was shown arrested in a case filed with Banskhali Police Station in connection with a raid on a training camp of the militant outfit in Lotmoni Hill area of Banskhali.
