Beximco as Bangladesh’s largest conglomerate and South Asia’s Greenest Vertical Textile Organization, takes another leap forward in its “Go Green” initiative, by moving to convert the 350 acre Beximco Industrial Park to solar power, says a press release.
Beximco Limited and China Energy Engineering Group Northwest Power Construction Engineering Corporation (CEDC) yesterday signed an agreement to establish a 20MW solar PV project. Syed Naved Husain, Group Director and CEO of Beximco Ltd and Fu Hongwei President, CEDC signed the agreement on behalf of the respective organisations. Under the agreement, CEDC will provide the Engineering, supply, construction commissioning, operation and maintenance as well as train Beximco team, handover and warranty.
On the occasion Naved said, “This is not only a step forward towards our ‘Go Green’ initiative but it will also help us to minimize electricity cost.”
CEDC is a Global Fortune 500 Company and its Global revenue is exceeding USD 40B. Beximco and CEDC are also reviewing feasibility to put up large solar projects of 50 to 100 MW across other Beximco Installation going forward.
