‘Ensure transparency in spending public money’

President Abdul Hamid has stressed on ensuring accountability and transparency in spending public money, reports UNB. The President made the urge when the newly appointed Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) of Bangladesh Mohammad Muslim Chowdhury paid a courtesy call on him at Bangabhaban yesterday. President's press secretary Joynal Abedin briefed reporters after the meeting.

The head of the state said audit activities should be conducted in a proper way to ensure of using the public money maintaining the deadline. He suggested taking necessary steps for settling audit objections remained pending for long. The CAG sought cooperation of the President in discharging his duties.
