Bodies of two young men, who went missing after an engine-run boat capsized at Chakuria Haor in Ashtogram upazila on Tuesday morning, were recovered on Wednesday morning.
The deceased were identified as Aftab,28, son of Abdul Rohai, and Sohel,30, son of Jamal Miah, both residents of Ghaghra village in Mithamaim upazila.
Police said locals spotted the bodies of Aftab and Sohel floating in Chakuria Haor at about 7:30 am and informed police. Later, police recovered the bodies in the morning.
Officer-in-charge of Ashtogram Police Station Qamrul Islam Molla confirmed the recovery of the two bodies.
Earlier, an engine-run boat carrying about 100 passengers, including Aftab and Sohel, sank in the haor while the boat was going to Kuliar Char upazila from Ashtogram at about 9:00 am on Tuesday.
The duo went missing after the incident while others managed to swim ashore.
