Five factories, house gutted in Dhanbari

A devastating fire gutted five factories and a dwelling house in Tangail on Tuesday night.
Upazila nirbahi officer of Dhanbari Tofazzol Hossain said electronic appliances of five factories owned by one Md Mokaddes Ali and a dwelling house owned by Abdul Motaleb were gutted in Dhanbari upazila of Tangail.
The fire originated from an electric short circuit at Kowser Plastic Industries at night. Soon it engulfed other factories namely Moon Star Electronics Co Ltd, Moon Star Elastic Co Ltd, Kowser Food Products, Mokaddes Chemicals and pawn Bilash.
Fire fighters from Madhupur rushed to the spot and extinguished the fire after frantic effort of two hours.
Md Mokaddes Ali, owner of the five factories claimed that properties worth about Tk one crore was gutted by fire.
Acting upazila chairman of Dhanbari Sherine Rahman, upazila nirbahi officer of Dhanbari Tofazzol Hossain, officer-in-charge of Dhanbari police station Mojibur Rahman, chairman of Paiska UP Arif Bazlu visited the spot yesterday and assured to assist the victims.
