MBBS admission test on Oct 5, BDS on Nov 9

The admission test for medical colleges will be held on October 5, with the exams for the dental on November 9.

The decision was taken at a meeting held at the Health Ministry on Tuesday with the Health Minister Mohammad Nasim in the chair.

The online application of medical colleges will start on August 27 and conclude on September 18 while online application of dental will start on October 16 and continue till October 27. The minister directed all concerned to conduct the admission tests transparently. The results of Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations of 2018 were published on July 19 showing a pass percentage of 66.64percent, which is 2.27percentlower than 68.91percentof the last year.

Photo exhibition on Bangabandhu held at DU

A photo exhibition on Bangabandhu’s life and works was held at Dhaka University (DU) marking the 43rd death anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

The DU authorities arranged the day long exhibition at Teacher-Student- Centre (TSC) remembering the month of mourning. A total of 45 photographs of life and works of Bangabandhu were taken place in the exhibition.

DU Vice-Chancellor (VC) Professor Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman inaugurated the exhibition as the chief guest. DU VC paid rich tribute to the founder of independent Bangladesh Bangabandhu and the other martyrs of August 15, 1975.

Prof Akhtaruzzaman urged the young generation to make themselves as worthy citizens through learning lessons from the life, ideology and works of Bangabandhu. DU Pro-VC (Academi) Professor Dr Nasreen Ahmad, Pro-VC (administration) Dr Muhammad Samad and DU Treasurer Prof Dr Kamal Uddin were present at the programme as the special guests. A good number of students, teachers and visitors visited the exhibition.

Farewell programme held

The Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management organised a farewell program & Cultural Ceremony for 5th Batch of THM on Wednesday at the auditorium of World University of Bangladesh, says a press release.

The ceremony was graced by the Pro-Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof M Nurul Islam as the chief guest. Prof AKM Ziaul Islam, Controller of Examinations and Prof M Moqbul Hossain, programme director, World School of Business of WUB, were present as special guests.  Dr Selim Ahmed, Head of the Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management, chaired the session.  ATM Ahmed Hossain, Director, Food & Beverage, Dhaka Regency Hotel, was present as keynote speaker.

While Md Golam Mostofa, Assistant Professor & Head of the Department (Acting) Tourism & Hospitality Management, Daffodil International University; Fariaz Morshed Chowdhury, Assistant Director of Sales, Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel; and Rehan Asif, Program Admin, Le Meridian Dhaka; were present as Penal Speakers. Registrar, University Officials, Faculty members, Students and a large number of Alumni of THM department were present in this program. The ceremony ended with a cultural programme.
