Schoolgirl killed in road crash in Cumilla

CUMILLA: A schoolgirl was killed and another injured when a bus knocked her down on the Dhaka-Chattogram highway at Gomta on Tuesday, reports UNB.

The deceased was identified as Aklima Akter, 16, a student of Gomta Isakia High School and daughter of Aboti Mia of Bhabtipara in Muradnagar upazila.

Manirul Islam, in-charge of Eliotganj police camp, said the accident took place in the area when a speeding bus knocked her down while she was returning home from school, leaving her dead on the spot.

A man was also injured in the accident and he was taken to local hospital.
