Women’s team training camp from tomorrow

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) on Tuesday announced a 30-member preliminary squad of the Bangladesh women’s cricket team for the 18-day training camp ahead of their next international assignment especially ICC Women’s World Twenty20.

The showpiece event for the eves’ team is scheduled to take place in West Indies, starting from November 9.

A total of 10 teams including Australia, England, West Indies, South Africa, New Zealand, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Ireland will take part in the 16-day-long meet, which will end on November 24.

Bangladesh have been clubbed in the Group-A with England, South Africa, Sri Lanka and the hosts West Indies, while Australia, India, New Zealand, Pakistan and Ireland have been pitted in the Group-B.   

Around three-week-long camp will begin in Dhaka on August 2 following their reporting at Mirpur Krira Palli today (August 1).

All the players of the provisionary squad were asked to report to Bangladesh women’s team trainer Anwar Hossain Monir.

After three days practice in Dhaka, the squad will travel to Chattogram where they will practice till August 18 before going for Eid-ul-Azha vacation.    

Newly-appointed head coach Anju Jain, assistant coach Devieka Palshikaar and their compatriot physiotherapist Anuja Dalvi, who went to their homeland after concluding their ICC Women’s World Qualifier mission successfully, are expected to back in Dhaka to join the team’s first training session tomorrow.
