Almost a week have already been gone but any of the teams yet to perform their official players’ transfer for coming season while the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) is planning to make a huge change in their four-year calendar from this year.
BFF, who announced their four-year calendar in 2017 with starting season from January to December this season and already sketched a schedule of the league and other competitions to organise in winter (October-November) and will announce reshuffled calendar after their executive meeting to be held on August 2.
According to the new schedule, the season will suppose to kick of from October 20 and the Bangladesh Premier League is set from November 23. Besides the Federation Cup, the Premier League teams will also play the Independence Cup and the Under-17 league.
Besides the domestic program, BFF will have a busy time with SAFF and AFC programmes while, AFC Under-16 women football qualifying round will be held at the Birsreshtha Mostafa Kamal Stadium Kamlapur from September 15 and the SAFF football championship will also take place in Dhaka, at the Bangabandhu National Stadium from the first week of September and the Bangabandhu Gold Cup football tournament is also in their (BFF) calendar to be organised in October.
To organise all the competitions, the venues for the domestic and international matches will have to renovate, regarding to make ready all the grounds and to develop the other facilities, NASC will take necessary steps very soon.
BFF have already showed all their problems to the notice of the National Sports Council (NSC) and also had a meeting among the NSC secretary Masud Karim, Director Planning and Development Shukkur Ali, BFF general secretary Abu Nayeem Shohag, grounds committee chairman Fazlur Rahman Babul, Zaber Bin Taher Ansary, manager of the competition committee of the BFF.
The NSC officials and the BFF officials also visited the Kamlapur Stadium on Monday, where the AFC Under-16 football qualifying round matches will take place from September 15-23.
The BFF and the NSC representatives spotted the sides are essential to renovate while the manager of the competition committee of the BFF informed that four dressing rooms, players’ dug-out shades, medical room, referees room, drainage system, security wall press box and the VIP gallery renovation will have to be completed by September 15.
Zaber when talking to The Independent yesterday said, “The NSC officials along with us made an inspection of the Bir Sreshtha Mostafa Kamal Stadium and marked spots will have to be renovated. The NSC officials assured us that they start the works as soon as possible.”
Meanwhile, the renovation works of the Bangabandhu National Stadium including the flood-light have already started from Monday.
