Probe body warns BFF GS on Badal affairs

Some leading  former football players continued their demonstration against the general secretary of the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) Abu Nayeem Shohag demanding his dismissal.

The former football players, who have been demanding  Shohag’s dismissal from his post for last few months protesting against the misconduct of Shohag with former national star and the BFF vice-president of Badal Roy and his wife.

The former booters through a press conference at the National Press Club yesterday said the BFF is yet to dismiss Shohag, if it will not discharge immediately, they will orgainse all players across the country to go on bigger demo against  Shohag.

Zakaria Pintu, captain of the Shawdhin Bangla Football Team, Golam Sarwar Tipu, Wahiduzzaman Pintu, Pratap Sangkar Hazra, Ashrafuddin Ahmed Chunnu, Abul Hossain,  Sheikh Mohammed Aslam, Hasanuzzaman Khan Bablu, Kaiser Hamid, Imtiaz Sultan Jony and Salahuddin were present in the press conference.

Meanwhile, BFF have already made a five-member probe committee comprising BFF senior vice-president Salam Murshedi, vice-president Kazi Nabil Ahmed, Harunur Rashid, Mohiuddin Mohi and Abdur Rahim about the protest of the footballers while they submitted the report with giving warning to Shohag.

According to Shohag’s comments that he begged pardon to Badal Roy for his misconduct. “I expressed my sorrow and begged excuse to him and he told me okay, what was happened that is ended here and he (Badal Roy) also told me that the GD, which was filed against me would be withdrawn. But the GD against me at the Tikatuli Thana is yet to be withdrawn.”

Kazi Mohammed Salahuddin, president of the BFF said the reporters about the demand of the former players to discharge Shohag, “This is a settled issue.  A probe committee was formed and they also submitted a report. The executive committee will take decision following the report of the committee.
