The loopholes of ICC review law (DRS) came to the fore when Mushfiqur Rahim was not awarded a boundary in the second ODI against West Indies. Those runs hurt Bangladesh terribly
considering the margin of the defeat was just three runs.
Mushfiqur was given leg-before when he tried to reverse sweep against West Indies leg-spinner Devendra Bishoo. The ball by time that crossed the boundary rope. Being sure about inside edge, Mushfiqur challenged the decision and became successful but didn’t get the four runs because the ICC review law said that the ball becomes dead when umpire will give out. The logic behind the law is that when fielders see ‘out’ signal from umpire, they won’t chase the ball.
However according to the TV commentators-- Ian Bishop and Jeff Dujon, the two West Indian legends--this particular law should be changed to avoid any criticism. They discussed the matter in a TV show after the game.
They said if such incident happens in a game like final of the World Cup, this would create a mess.
