8 ‘drug traders’ arrested in Manikganj

Police in separate drives arrested 8 ‘drug traders’ along with a huge quantity of Indian contraband phensidyl, yaba tablets and heroin from Manikganj Sadar and Saturia upazila on Wednesday. Manikganj Sadar thana police in a raid arrested 3 drug traders along with 800 bottles of Indian contraband phensidyl bottles from a private car from Betila-Mitora Bus Stand area on Wednesday night. They also seized the private car.

The arrestees were Md Kalam, 35, Mohammed Ali, 45 and Rubel Chokider, 34. Meanwhile, Saturia thana police arrested 5 suspected drug traders, in an anti-drug drive on Wednesday night.

The arrestees are Sohel Rana, 32, Helal Uddin, 27, Sawpna Akter, 20, Rahela Khatun, 65, and Shoriful Islam, 19. They are inhabitants of different areas in Saturia upazila of Manikganj district.

Police also recovered 10 grams of heroin, 300 pieces of yaba tablets from their possesion.
