Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr. Mohammad Javed Patwari yesterday asked the police members, who are going to join United Nations Peacekeeping Mission in Haiti, to discharge their duties with professionalism and devotion, reports UNB. The IGP gave the directive during a pre-deployment briefing to the Haiti-bound peacekeepers in the conference room of Police Headquarters yesterday, said assistant inspector general (media) Soheli Ferdous at Police Headquarters.
Mentioning that Bangladesh has a glorious role in UN Peacekeeping Operations, Dr Patwari said the police members must be very devoted in performing their responsibility to keep the dignity and prestige of Bangladesh in the global context. "You have to continue your efforts to brighten the image of the country. The country's dignity cannot be damaged in any way," he said.
The top official of Bangladesh Police said that discipline and ethics should be given most importance while performing duties in peacekeeping missions.
