Rain continued to batter most of the country, including the capital, yesterday (Wednesday). Chattogram division had the most of it, with Cox’s Bazar getting 228mm of rainfall till 6am yesterday.
In Dhaka city, there was a brief respite when the sun managed to peep through the dark clouds in the afternoon.
However, the rain is going to resume again anytime and last another 72 hours, the Met Office forecast said yesterday.
But it is not going to be pelting like the past three days. It will fall with lesser intensity, with moderate to heavy at places, Arif Hossain, a meteorologist at the Dhaka Met Office, told The Independent yesterday.
Despite all the rain for the past few days, the country was still going with a 15.8 per cent lesser rainfall for July. However, with the next three days of rain, the deficit is going to be met and it would be normal average during this time of the monsoon, Arif added.
