Couple held with 27,300 yaba tablets

Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) in a drive arrested a couple along with 27,300 contraband yaba tablets from City Gate area in Chattogram yesterday.

The arrestees were identified as Md Sabuj, 31, son of Kamal Hossain and his wife Jahinur Begum, 30, hailing from Gopalgonj district.

Rab-7 media director Mimtanur Rahman said acting on tip-off, a team of Rab arrested the couple who were on a motorbike and recovered 27,300 yaba tablets from their possession.

They were carrying the drug to Dhaka said in primary interrogation. The motorbike also seized, said Mimtanur.
