A low over the Bay of Bengal, turning into a depression in the north-western part of the Bay on Saturday night, moved away in a north-western direction towards the state of Jharkhand in India as a land depression. It did spawn some overnight rains but there was no change in the temperature. Rainfall is likely over the next five days as the monsoon has become active over the country.
The depression left the weather over the Bay and in the country in turmoil, with heat and humidity ruling.
The paltry overnight rain totalled only 29mm over Dhaka, failing to douse the heat and humidity
yesterday.
