Two children drown

Two children drowned in a pond in Badda area of Hajiganj upazila in the district yesterday noon.

The deceased were identified as Akib Patwari, 4, son of Barkat Patwari and his cousin Tanisha Aktar, 5, daughter of Didar Alam Patwari.

Neighbors said the two cousins slipped into the pond while playing beside it around 12 pm.

Later, locals rescued them the pond and rushed toUpazila Health Complex where doctors declared the duo dead.
