Awami League Joint General Secretary, Mahbub-Ul-Alam Hanif, yesterday alleged that BNP Chairperson, Khaleda Zia is going to London to hatch conspiracy against the state in a bid to create anarchy again.
He also warned the former prime minster not to do anything that will go against the country while she is in London.
He made these comments while addressing a discussion titled, Bangabandhu and Bangladesh, that was organised by the Swadhinata Nurses Parishad at the Dhaka Medical College Hospital auditorium in the city.
“I don’t know what conspiracy Khaleda will hatch against the country after reaching London, but I want to tell her that no conspiracy will work against the Sheikh Hasina government as people of the country are with her,” he said.
He also called upon party leaders and workers as well as the people to remain united and vigilant against Khaleda Zia’s attempt to destabilise the country.
The AL Joint General Secretary further alleged that Khaleda Zia’s elder son, Tarique Rahman, who is currently staying in London, has been plotting against Bangladesh by appointing lobbyists for carrying out propaganda against the country.
Hanif, also an AL lawmaker, requested other political parties to form a united front under the leadership of AL President, Sheikh Hasina, in the greater interest of the country’s ongoing development.
“There are more than hundred political parties in the country. There is no need to have so many political parties here. All should be united under the leadership of Sheikh Hasina to take the country forward,” he said.
Thanking the Prime Minister for withdrawing VAT on the tuition fee of students studying in private universities, Hanif said that Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s daughter has a kind heart. “The Sheikh Hasina government will scrap any decision that goes against the people of the country because she is Bangabandhu’s daughter,” he said.
