Nilphamari: Two workers, including a woman, of a wig factory sustained burn injuries as a fire broke at the factory at Uttara EPZ yesterday, reports UNB..
The injured workers, identified as Yeakub and Asia, were admitted to Rangpur Medical College Hospital. Fire service sources said the fire originated from an electric short circuit at Evergreen Wig Factory around 11 am and soon engulfed the entire factory, leaving 37 workers including Yeakub and Asia injured. On information, two firefighting units from Nilphamari Sadar and Sayedpur Fire Stations rushed to the spot and extinguished the blaze after one hour’s frantic efforts. Nilphamari fire service station manager Enamul Haque said the extent of losses was estimated to be Tk 1 crore.
