UPDF man shot dead in Khagrachhari

An activist of the United People's Democratic Front (UPDF), the Chittagong Hill Tracts-based political party, was gunned down by unidentified miscreants in Alutila area of Matiranga upazila yesterday, reports UNB.

The deceased was identified as Gyanendu Chakma, 40, activist of UPDF district unit.

Organizer of UPDF district unit Michael Chakma claimed a group of armed motorcyclists carried out the attack around 5pm and fled the scene immediately. Gyanendu was carrying some organizational duties in Alutila, he added.
