CHattogram: Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader yesterday said there will be no more election in the country like the one in 2001 although BNP keeps dreaming of it, reports UNB.
Quader, also the Road Transport and Bridges Minister, came up with the remarks while talking to reporters after a visit to the development works of Patiya bypass.
Replying to a query, he said the Election Commission will take initiatives for ensuring the participation of all the political parties in the election.
"The EC will do all the necessary works relating to the election, including creation of a level-playing field, after the announcement of the election schedule.
The government has nothing to do for conducting the election. The government will only provide the assistance the EC will ask for," said the minister.
