The government is formulating a policy on receiving health care services abroad by the Bangladeshi patients, reports BSS.
State Minister for Health and Family Welfare Zahid Malique said this on behalf of the Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammad Nasim while responding to a starred question placed by treasury bench lawmaker Dr Md Enamur Rahman in the House here.
The state minister said every year few patients are used to visiting abroad for taking health care services. Financial solvency, satisfaction of treatment abroad, health tourism side by side inadequacy of treatment facilities in the country are the major causes for taking treatment abroad, he added.
To reduce the tendency, all the medical college hospitals, specialised hospitals and general hospitals have been equipped with modern instruments for providing modern health care services, Malique explained.
Moreover, the state minister said the country has a good number of international standard modern hospitals in private sector where foreigners are taking health care services from those hospitals.
