Drive to remove hyacinth launched in C�nawabganj

Removal of hyacinth from Ajaipur-Shankerbati beel in Chapainawabganj municipality was inaugurated yesterday. Lawmaker of Chapai-nawabganj sadar constituency Abdul Wadud inaugurated the programme as chief guest. It was disclosed that the beel was once used by thousands of people for bathing, washing clothes and pisciculture.  Now, the beel is covered with hyacinth and has remained unutilised for two years. The municipality has taken up the programme to remove hyacinth from the beel at a cost of Tk3,50,000 and it will be completely free of hyacinth within a month.
