Workshop for public, private university teachers

East West University Centre for Research and Training (EWUCRT) organised a two-day workshop titled ‘Academic Writing, Publication and Research Methods’ in collaboration with Centre for Development through Open Learning, Publishing and Communication (CEDOLPC)  on EWU campus at Aftabnagar in the capital recently, says a release. The Inaugural and Closing ceremonies of the workshop were held at EWU premises. Dr Mohammed Farashuddin, chairperson, Board of Trustees, EWU and former governor of Bangladesh Bank, as chief guest inaugurated the workshop. He also inaugurated EWUCRT’s new Seminar Room, as well as the Faculty Research Hub.  Rafiqul Huda Chaudhury, chairperson, EWUCRT and member, Board of Trustees, EWU chaired the programme. Professor Ahmed Shafee, vice chancellor of EWU, attended the closing ceremony as chief guest. He distributed certificates among the participants at the ceremony. Manzurul Islam, director, CEDOLPC, and Muhammed Shahriar Haque, executive director of EWUCRT were at the closing ceremony. A total of 34 faculty members from public and private universities participated in the workshop.

Debate championship held at BRUR

RANGPUR: A two-day Freshers’ Debate Championship and Quiz Competition- 2015 held at Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR) on Friday. Vice-chancellor (VC) of the university AKM Nurun Nabi formally inaugurated the event organised by Begum Rokeya University Debate Association (BRUDA) at the auditorium of Academic Building No-3 on the campus.  Debaters of different departments of the university took part in debate championship and quiz competitions.  Assistant Professor of the Department of Social Science of BRUR Md Azmal Hossain and Lecturer Tabiur Rahman of the Department of Mass Communication and Journalism also addressed the inaugural ceremony. Teachers and students of different departments of the university attended the inaugural ceremony to enjoy the events on the inaugural day.
