Sherpur: A schoolgirl was killed as a speeding easy-bike ran over her at Dawdara village in Nalitabari upazila yesterday morning, reports UNB.
The deceased was identified as Surma Begum, 7, daughter of Abdus Salam of the village, and a class one student of Dawdara Government Primary School in the upazila.
Locals said the accident took place when an easy-bike coming from the opposite direction ran over the girl while she was going to school around 8:45 am, leaving her dead on the spot.
Locals took her to upazila health complex where the duty doctor declared her dead, they added.
AKM Fasihur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Nalitabari Police Station, said the body was handed over to the family according to the direction of the district magistrate.
