The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) yesterday set September 21 to pass order whether to frame charges of crimes against humanity against five alleged Razakars from Karimganj upazila of Kishoreganj, reports BSS. Justice M Enayetur Rahim, chairman of the three-member panel of ICT, set the date as the accused except one were neither arrested, nor they surrendered before the court. The five accused are advocate Shamsuddin Ahmed, his brother Md Nasiruddin Ahmed, Gazi Abdul Mannan, Hafiz Uddin and Azharul Islam. Of them, Shamsuddin is now in custody. Prosecutor Sultan Mahmud Simon took part in the hearing yesterday, pleading to framing charges against the accused. Shamsuddin's lawyer Md Atikur Rahman argued against the plea, while state-appointed counsel Abdus Shukur Khan was present on behalf of the four fugitives. Earlier on May 13, the tribunal took the seven charges against them into cognizance.
