Locals along with the parents of the one and half year boy, who was killed on July 25, form a human chain demanding punishment to the killers in front of Dinajpur Press Club yesterday.
Mahbur Rahman and his wife Arzina Begum of Uttar Suzapur village in Phulbari upazila of Dinajpur found the body of their youngest son Ali on July 26. On July 25, their son Md Ali went missing. Next day,  his body was found under sand and bricks near Monjurul Islam’s house in Uttar Suzapur Masterpara village. A murder case was filed with Phulbari police station.
“They tortured my son, then they buried him under sand and bricks alive,” said Arzina Begum. The couple is yet to know why their son was killed in such brutal way. Police arrested a youth Lion Mia, of Uddar Suzalpur village, who is now in Dinajpur jail.
“What was his fault, why my son was killed,” questioned the father. The parents also alleged about police inaction and their biasness in favouring the accused.
The couple alleged that they told police the names of the criminals during filing the case, but police did not mention their names in the first information report (FIR). They are still threatening them to stop the investigation of the case,” said the mother.
Abur Rahim is the investigation officer of the case. When contacted, Mostaque Ahmed, officer-in-charge of Phulbari police station defended the allegation saying false and fabricated. Police already arrested one man in connection with the case. Besides, charge sheet of the case will be placed any day, the OC added.“Our son was tortured to death like Rajon and Rakib,” said the mother.
