Emergency power plants to get more time for completion

The ‘Speedy Supply of Power and Energy (Special Provision) (Amendment) Bill, 2018’ was placed in parliament yesterday extending some provisions of the existing law by three years, reports UNB.

The bill seeks the amendment as the construction of power plants for ensuring quick supply of power and energy in the country is yet to complete.  State Minister for Power and Energy Nasrul Hamid Bipu placed the Bill and it was sent to the respective parliamentary standing committee for further scrutiny.  The committee was asked to submit its report within three days.
