A delegation of Zimbabwe National Defense University (NDU), led by Air Commodore Brian John Chikonzo, visited the Police Headquarters in the capital on Tuesday morning, reports UNB. During the visit, the delegation head met Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr Mohammed Javed Patwary at his office room. During the meeting, they exchanged views on mutual interests, said AIG (Media) of the Police Headquarters Soheli Ferdous.
Later, the visiting Zimbabwe NDU team sat in a meeting with senior police officers of the Police Headquarters with Additional IGP (HRM) Md Mohsin Hossain in the chair, she said.
At the meeting, AIG (Training-3) Mohammad Sohel Rana presented Bangladesh Police's history, heritage, mission, vision, and heroic role in the Liberation War, steps taken for the protection of the country's internal security and law and order, the unique contributions to UN peacekeeping missions, strategic plans, limitations and future plans.
During the question-answer session, members of the delegation wanted to know about the training of the police, transnational organised crime and terrorism.
DIG (Operations) Barrister Mahbubur Rahman, DIG (HR) Mohammed Abdul Alim Mahmud, DIG (Logistics) Barrister M Harun Or Rashid and other police officials responded to the questions.
The delegation head appreciated the role of Bangladesh Police in maintaining the law and order. He also praised the heroic contributions of police to the Liberation War and paid tributes to the martyred police members.
